About this coffee

Notes of tangerine & cranberry, with complex acidity and a syrupy body.

The Gichugu Coffee Factory sits at an altitude of 1680 meters above sea level on the expansive slopes of Mt Kenya. The factory was opened in the early 1970’s to process coffee from the surrounding villages of the Embu province. Bestowed with deep rich red volcanic soils that are ideal for coffee production this coffee has all that you would expect of the finest Kenyan coffees. Rich aromatics with intense citrus and berry fruit notes layer over a complex acidity with a full syrupy body leaving lingering candied citrus peel notes on the finish.

Every year we keenly await the arrival of fresh Kenyan coffees at the roastery, and we’re thrilled to have the Gichugu on our menu once again. The Gichugu Factory continues to produce stellar coffees from the expansive slopes of Mt Kenya and the Embu province. The Gichugu has all that you’d expect of the finest Kenyan coffees; rich aromatics, intense citrus and berry fruit notes with a full syrupy body.
